Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust Adventure Event
For those who prefer not to race but still want to enjoy the excitement, this event is ideal.
Open to all motor and sail boats, participate in the Ellen MacArthur Adventure Event and support the Ellen MacArthur Trust with your entry fee.
The EMCT team will lead boats on a fun cruise around Little Cumbrae. This year, we want you to dress up your boats so we can see as much colour out on the water as possible!* There will be prizes for the best-dressed boats judged by Anna Campbell-Jones, as well as a prize draw for signing up!
The Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust team will provide a comprehensive briefing (1030), and a lead boat will be available to guide you. The prize-giving ceremony will take place at Largs Sailing Club after the trip (1430).
Entry fee is £25 per boat. Not only does your entry fee go directly to help young people to believe in a brighter future, but you and your crew will be treated to a prize-giving drink and access to the live music on Saturday night to soak up the festival atmosphere. All of this for only a £25 entry fee!

Sailing opportunities for young people recovering from illness
After young people complete their treatments, the Trust's work begins to help rebuild young people's lives.
More than 400 young people have been supported in rebuilding their confidence after cancer by the Trust from their Largs base since it opened in late-2014. Many of these young people have returned to the charity in that time to sail again, building a relationship with the Trust across a number of years and creating lifelong bonds with the people they meet.

Largs Yacht Haven is also home to two of the Trust’s yachts, both sporting their iconic blue livery. Both boats have been uniquely adapted to accommodate sailors who suffer from physical needs. The Trust's flagship boat, SY Moonspray is a stunning 44ft yacht which celebrated its 30th birthday in 2019 while SY Caledonian Hero is a uniquely adapted Beneteau Oceanis 45ft.
